lots of goodness going around.

good things:

-My post yesterday on tbirdnation received 154 views. and we just had our 1,000 visitor to that blog. success!
-On Saturday I took a spontaneous road trip with my awesome mother and aunt to Las Vegas. We went to The Cheesecake Factory, shopped at Bath & Body Works and watched the Bellagio Fountain Show. It was a great time.

-The boy visited again yesterday. Such good times. This picture was taken a few weeks ago, but his sister-in-law just added it to Facebook so I wanted to share.

-Labor Day weekend = no school on Monday. The boy is going with his brothers and dad on a trip, and guess what? His sisters, sisters-in-law, mother, and myself are having a girls' weekend :) I'm looking forward to that!
-another good thing? i have class in 13 minutes. I can still relax for 7 and then walk over and still make it time. I can get to most of my classes within 4-5 minutes. It's lovely!

I hope you're having a good week!

school so far.

HAPPY 500th POST!
WEEK 1 is almost over.

This week has been hectic to say the least. Classes started Monday; I found out I can graduate in April if I switched into one class this semester. I'm both excited and freaked out that I could very well graduate with my BA in 8 months. What?! There are pros and cons to staying for what should have been my senior year, but everything with graduating has sort of fallen into place. So, I'm going in that direction right now.

Second, I'm part of a new project. I post every Tuesday on this site. I will be posting mostly about campus events, things that go on in Cedar City, and my classes. Please check it out...especially on Tuesdays ;)

Third, the boy might be moving to Cedar. This would be awesome. He did surprise me a few days ago though, which made me so happy.

Fourth, I've been trying to exercise more so this week I've gone running Monday and Wednesday morning before class (getting up 3 hours before my 10 a.m. class makes me feel pretty good!). And Tuesday and Thursday I rode a bike. This morning I got to class only to find out it was cancelled and since my next class isn't until 1 p.m., I decided to go for a bike ride. I came back to find out I went 5 miles! I know that's not a ton on a bike, but it was good for me.

Alright. Two more classes. The last one doesn't get out until 4. That will make for good Fridays...

Overload.

Today I realized a few things:

  • I am registered for 8 classes. EIGHT. What? Now that is five 3-credit classes and three 1-credit classes. I created a calendar on google doc to view my schedule. It didn't look too terrible.
  • Then I remembered I also have a 2-hour meeting each week that could give me class credit...except I'm at 18 credits so I don't have room. That means I go each week, do the work, but don't get the 2 credits (it's a required meeting for Presidential Ambassadors). Awesome. I also save one hour a week to give a campus tour and one hour a week to help with campus recruitment events.
  • I'm the communication department representative. What does that mean? I'm not sure. But it means at least one meeting a week with the dean. And workshops. And stuff. I'm a little perturbed about this one because I thought I'd be reimbursed but instead I was told today, "That's a great resume builder." Guess what, people? Resumes don't pay rent or put food on my table.
  • And there's institute. I haven't even started looking at when I will take a class yet or what class it will be.
  • Oh, and I'm SUPER STOKED about this new project I'm taking part in which is going to drive SUU's social media campaign. Basically, I will be blogging once a week (on Tuesdays) about my experiences at SUU. I'd love you to follow that blog too. The more followers, the merrier!
  • Aaaand I am applying for an on-campus job because...yeah, I have no other funds coming in this semester. That bites.
  • Plus I need time to see this guy cause he's basically dreamy? Oh, and note that this photo was taken sometime before 7 a.m. Not too shabby!
Anyway, I am feeling a BIT overwhelmed today. Sigh. I know I'm either going to have to drop a class or figure something out. Any suggestions? I don't want to burn myself completely out this semester. I want to, you know, enjoy it somewhat.

The end.

what i've been up to..

I took a quick trip back home this last week & was able to spend time with best friends, go to the fair for the 8th year in a row with my mother, visit Red Butte Gardens and Temple Square, attend another friend's homecoming, make some delicious cookies, watch High Society and buy a new camera and experiment with all its features.
Oh, and I missed this guy:
I thought it was about time I post a picture up of us! This is my bf. He makes me laugh (as you can see in the second photo) and has amazing blue eyes, right? So, anyway. Just thought I'd throw a picture of us onto my blog for the heck of it...comment away on how cute we are ;)

Happy Sunday!

i might become a hermit.

i have my own room.
and i might become a hermit now.

it is so nice to come and go whenever you please, listen to music you want when you want...

but, i need to remember to be social! my new roomies probably think i'm a shut-in because i've been on the phone all day talking to my cousin/best friend Hollie who I haven't talked to all summer (because she's been off being an awesome EFY counselor).

we've already talked twice today ... probably for three hours now? yeah, we had a LOT to catch up on.

So, sorry new roomies. I'm really not anti-social. I just needed some Hollie time.

The end.

m.i.a.

Wow. Sorry I've been missing for awhile. Summer happened so fast. It was full of craziness including:

-Moving home
-Traveling to NYC, Boston, and D.C.
-Staying with cousins and sisters
-Studying abroad for 5 weeks in Granada, Spain
-Getting in a relationship
-Mission homecomings
-Wedding receptions
-Hanging out with family & nieces
-Meeting the boyfriend's family
-Motorcycle rides through the canyon
-River rafting
-Visiting friends before they leave for other schools/missions
-Celebrating birthdays of my amazing mother and beautiful sister
-Finding a place to live for the fall (a blessing indeed!)
-strengthening my testimony through prayer, reading scriptures, and also general conference addresses in the Ensign
-Moving back to Cedar (that was today)

See? A busy summer indeed. But very enjoyable. Lots of growing experiences. Some tough times but I made it through to now.

Well, goodnight :) Just wanted to let you all know I wasn't dead.
