catch-up

Now that I have a long weekend, I thought I'd take some time and update..with photos. I LOVE photos (have you noticed?). Here are some photos from the last month:

back to school..

Here is what I wore today (I'm not thrilled about the second picture, but I wanted to show off my shoes that I love. I had to dress up because all the officers decided it would look better. I was at school at about 6:50, and stood outside the doors, welcoming kids back to school.

My day went fairly well. My classes are going to be fun, except for the no air conditioning in my school. It's almost unbearable by fourth hour. And, unfortunately, today was "Disclosure Day". Luckily I have a really awesome group to eat with at lunch- all my best friends!

The only debate I've been having all day is whether or not I made the right decision to not take Stats. I've always just been used to having a math class, and this year I decided not to take one. It's been nagging me all day, and I might just transfer into it. Basically, I have to decide by...tonight. I know it would be more work, but I think it'd be a fun class. So...there's my newest problem (And oldest- I dealt with the question all summer).

Well, I have some homework to get done, so I'll check in later!

Much love!

cooking friday

This afternoon I made delicious cookies (not to brag, but they were good). And easy! I stole the recipe from this website and modified it a bit.

Here are the icecream sandwiches I made (haven't tried yet):

And here are the cookies I baked (you cook these a little longer because you want them to be harder than the icecream sandwiches). I added white chocolate chips to some, and Andes mint chips to others. Both taste great!

Photos

I had some fun with feet and family and photos.

i did it

Yesterday, on impulse, I got my hair cut. Well, it was supposed to be trimmed. But, the hairstylist did NOT do what I wanted. I asked for layers. I got two, very distinct layers. So, last night I had some one else fix it. I do like it being even on the ends now, but I do miss my long, split-ended hair. And I miss my long ponytail. And it doesn't look as good not-done (and that's what I worked at all summer with my long locks). But, I'll get used to it! Here is a picture- you can't tell that much, but anyway...

I lost about two inches from the length

Hoorah!

I've been loving this song since I first heard it on YouTube last week. I'm talking about David Archuleta's single, Crush, of course! I heard it became available for purchase on iTunes August 12. I haven't been counting down the days, per se, but I have been looking forward to it. This morning, after my morning run with cross country, I came home, and purchased it! I don't normally buy things off iTunes, but I wanted to support little Archie, so I did. It was number 7 this morning, and I've checked on and off throughout the day. I watched it move up from number six to number three...and guess what? It's now the top song. YAY DAVID!! :) I love this song. Everyone said he could "only sing slow ballads". Well, guess what anti-Archuleta-Fans? He did it! His song is totally not a slow song. It's great. Sorry this a LONG post over mr.archuleta, but I really love his new song!!

Listen to it!

loves.

why women can (and will) do it better.

This weekend, I went to the fair with my mom. We had great fun walking through all the exhibits. And, we even got a little competitive in the contests. I participated in the Hershey Kiss contest. Objective? Eat 12 kisses as fast as you can. Oh, and let's put you in gloves that will make them harder to unwrap. I don't even like chocolate kisses, unless they have nuts. But, I ate them! And I came in second just barely. Here are some photos..

After the contests, we saw all the animals, and stopped by a steer auction. It was a lot of fun! And I'd never heard a live auctioneer before! You think I talk fast?? In the meantime, I'd convinced my mom she was going to do the pie-eating contest. I was signing her up. We made our way back over to the appropriate tent, and I signed my mom up. She would be going against 11 other adults, including 8 men. Let's just say my mom is very competitive. She killed the competition. Devoured that 9-inch coconut cream pie like it was a cookie. It was awesome. Everyone was amazed. Here are some funny pictures that don't even cover half the joy of the event.

Never think you can't do well because a guy is in the running too..girls can do it better!

This picture is from choir camp. I took it through a hole in the deck. I got some strange looks while taking it, but I am pleased with how it turned out.

Here is what's going down, yo.

Today I...

*Started reading Breaking Dawn and couldn't put it down. But then, I fell asleep on my bed for 2 hours when I was anxiously trying to read as much as possible. Blast! I woke up groggy, and wanting to start off where I left off. But first, I logged onto my facebook account. Reading my friend's wall, I stumbled across a spoiler of the book. And by the time I realized the fact, it was too late!! I was very sad, and angry that someone would post something so blatantly on someone's wall without thoughts of innocent bystanders!
*Feeling a little perturbed at what I had just read, I drove to Target to get a cute skirt for school registration tomorrow (I have to stay all day). But, it was not available in my size. I ended up buying a cute black shirt that is fancier than my cap sleeve, and one that I will wear a lot. Especially because we have to dress up at least once a week when the school year starts, and black will look good under our jackets.
*Realized that, true to most every teenage drama, my face is breaking out. And tomorrow is picture day.
*Tried to not think about specific boys. And was unsuccessful.
*Got excited for choir camp (this week!)
*Dreaded figuring out my schedule that was ruined by overlapping classes. Dang!
