What I Wore Sunday #2

Here's what I wore today (and some fun pics):

I wore it with the jacket all day, but I wanted to show you what it looked like without as well. Oh, and that's what happens to my hair when I shower, talk to bff Hollie for 45 minutes, and get off to realize it's 12 and church starts in a half hour..it's all about the natural approach. Haha.

Here goes for the listing:
Brown Shirt: Kohls
Brown tweed high-waisted skirt: Thrifted
Nylons: WalMart
Brown T-straps: Payless
Cardigan: Hand-me-down (gotta love 'em!)
Earrings & Necklace: Kohls

And, because my mom is so GRACIOUS to take these pics every Sunday (hehe)- here is a pic to show off my fabulous mom.

Sadies. Sadies. Sadies.

This was my first (and last) time to Sadies. And it was SO dang fun. I wasn't going to go, but I ended up asking someone and it was a blast (Even if I took the thing I was asking him with to the wrong house..an entire street away from his). But, anyway. The theme was good v. evil or opposites attract. So, I was a nerd. He was a gangsta. Check out the following pictures:

The first ones are from our day activity. We went to this corn maze, and Brad and I were the coolest from our group. The rest just sat there, but we went down all the kid slides, and had a race (Which I won--check out the pic. from the tall slide. That's me going down first because I cut in front of a small child) and it was just fun. Then, later on you see the pics of our costumes. Check it out.

the best officers ever :)

I love these guys. I'm SO glad I get to work with them. We hardly ever have disputes, and we all love eating Lucky China. It's our "tradition". We've eaten it about 4 times since August. Today we went to check out senior cotillion places, and as usual, I got carried away taking pictures. That's another reason I love these guys- they totally go along with my mad-photo-taking-addiction. And, they even think of cool places and poses :) Enjoy some, will ya?

[probably my favorite. Backside shot. Hahah. Jake is a goof!]

[favorite officers ever, minus logan. But he's cool too.]

[This shot was in a really cool place with a mini waterfall and pretty trees. But, unfortunately the guy who took our pic since there was nothing stable enough for my self-timer, didn't exactly capture what I was hoping. Darn!]

I love it when..

*Your best friend knows that you are trying to get a ride home with that special boy, so she conveniently "disappears".
*On the other hand, your best friend knows that a-not-so-favored boy is approaching, so she warns you, and you make a quick exit.

So, thanks to all my best friends who know exactly what I need :) Oh, and I got a BIT picture crazy because I just started finding all these funny ones that brought back great memories..oops.

guilty pleasure.

My guilty pleasure is cherry coke zero. I've been trying to kick the caffeine habit, and was successful from about June-mid August. Then I had some Dr.Pepper, and was off it again until a few weeks ago. Here's what happened....

I was at Bingo with a bad headache. When I won, I grabbed a candy bar, but then saw the Diet Coke sitting there. I traded it in, and drank it up.
*actually, there was an instance about a week before the Diet Coke when I drank Sunkist. I did not know it had caffeine. But lo and behold, it does.*

Then, the next week at Bingo, I treated myself to a Cherry Coke.

Well, we still have some at my house from the pre-June months when I drank it all the time. So, today, I opened one up and loved hearing the fizz as I poured it into the glass...dang habits.

Looks like Bingo will be the downfall of my caffeine cravings.

What I Wore

I want to document my Sunday outfits for the next little bit, so be prepared for the weekly "What I Wore Today" post. Should be fun to see. Or boring. Your pick. I'm trying to put a different outfit together each Sunday. We'll see how that goes!

And, because the other "daily-wear" blogs do this, I will too.

Shirt: Ann Taylor (given to me by Jen)
Tank: DownEast Clothing
Earrings: Gift for V-Day last year
Skirt: Final Touch; thrifted
Tights (not seen): Walmart
Boots: Mossimo

it's decided.

I'm having a 1920's themed party. You're invited.

I will wear my new hat.
And a flapper dress.

or

Come, have fun. Dress up. Enjoy the 1920s with me.

SLC.

I love Salt Lake. So beautiful, especially the fall. Today, a small group from choir went down and tried out to sing the National Anthem at a Jazz game.

After, we walked through the Gateway. My darling bestie Kiera bought me an adorable hat as an early birthday present (even though SHE looks adorable in it herself).

We then discovered the wonderful world of Anthropologie. I had heard of it, and been to the website, but never to the actual store. But, knowing how cute their catalogs are,I should have expected it to be just as cute inside. We looked at everything, and fantasized about purchasing one of the many adorable jackets there. I also saw this bed, and loved it. Not only did it have peacock details, but the colors are gorgeous!

it's about that time.

Well, I haven't posted much in the last little while, it seems. Bff came up this week, and on Wednesday night we stopped by Arctic Circle for our old tradition of "courtesy cones- twist dipped in chocolate". I took pics in the drive-thru for the memory..

Tagged.

So i've been tagged by The Sun Kissed Me
I'm going to list seven quirky things about me (shouldn't be too hard, I'm full of quirks!)..

1. I listen to folk/indie music. And love it. (Meiko, A Fine Frenzy, Feist, Sondre Lerche..)
2. I missed being the "Biggest Flirt" by one vote. I flirt all the time, and I don't even know I'm doing it.
3. Honey on grilled cheese. Oh YUM! I can't eat it plain. Bleh!
4. Weird love of fences/abandoned buildings/brick walls/barns for photo taking.
5. I don't accessorize my jewelry to my outfits; I pick my outfits based on the jewelry.
6. I love short, red nails. I used to have long nails, but then when I began learning guitar, I couldn't keep the long nails. So, I cut them, but I love short red nails better anyway. And I especially like them with teal-ish shirts.
7. I can go on and on about something of great unimportance (refer to number 6), and I go off on crazy tangents a lot (especially when talking in person).

Hmm..I'm tagging YOU. Yes, YOU (unless you have already done it!).

when she grows up..

she's going to play guitar.

happy october, ya'll!

It's already October! I can't believe it. These last months always seem to go by SO fast, I think. Mid-term has already come and gone in school, and luckily my grades are pretty good (three A+'s, three A's, and "AP Seminary" as my teacher calls it). Hopefully they stay that way as well, and sorry for the bragging that just occurred.

Favorite class? This is a tossup, but the verdict is.. I love my AP Government and Politics class. Then again, I have an AWESOME teacher- the same one I had for AP US History last year. Once you have him, you never want anyone else! He is seriously amazing.

Least favorite class?
Hmm...another tough decision here. I don't "hate" any of my classes. But, here are the result(s)- I picked two because I am the author of this post, and I can do as I please.
-Digital Photography: GASP! "But you LOVE photography! You post pictures in nearly every post, of nothing, and everything!" And you, my proverbial blog-reader, are correct. I do have a passion for taking pictures; yet, my teacher goes so unbelievably slow that I can hardly bear it! We are slowly entering the FANTASTIC world of Photoshop. This is one of the big reasons I took the class- to learn about this photo editor program. However, I wish he moved a tad bit faster. Ah well, to each his own. Just today my teacher came over and asked, "Have you worked with Photoshop before? You must be familiar with it.." I responded, "Um, no." And, he has had me help some kids who are behind, which makes me happy that I can understand it. Currently I am enrolled in Digi Photo 2 second semester, but I am not sure if I can endure this all year long. I guess I will see.
-Second, Royal Choir. Another almost heart-attack? I too love to sing, and of course, sporadically break out in song (whether real or made-up-on-the-spot is for me to know). The reason this class fits on my "least favorite" list is that there are simply TOO many kids. I do not think it is a smart idea to put 120 hormone-enraged highschoolers in one room for an hour and a half in a school with NO a/c. May I repeat? NO a/c. It is simply too hot, too dramatic, and the attention span is about that of a preschooler who is being sat down to learn calculus. Point here- I too lose my patience as I try and sit through the entire class, while sweat beads form on my forehead, and a headache too forms as my teacher hopelessly tries to get everyone to pay attention.

Perks about my senior year (thus far):

-Singing the school song (collectively as seniors) at the end of all the assemblies in front of the rest of the students.
-Singing the National Anthem at a football game (this isn't just a senior privilege, but I had never done it before).
-Being an OFFICER! It is a lot of work, but a ton of fun.
-Realizing how close "reality" is. Sometimes this thought works in my favor, and sometimes against.
-Guitar class. I love this class. It's so fun learning new chords, new strumming patterns, and looking up songs online and being able to PLAY them. I even made up a song!
-Best friends that are also seniors. I was afraid for my senior year since my best friend was leaving for college. But, I've learned that you can have more than one "best friend".
-Sitting with the best group of friends at lunch everyday (on most occasions). This seating arrangement includes: me, Kaylee (one of my besties), Lance, Jason, Bryan, Spencer,Cameron, and on some days- Kiera. That about wraps it up for my "lunch bunch". But sometimes we sit with other people as well. This group is awesome though! :)

And lastly, what I have to look FORWARD to (this month alone!):
-Having a visit from my niece! I can't wait :)
-Leadership conference with student officers from all around the state.
-Going to the state capitol with some of my besties (and my awesome gov teacher, Van the Man) to speak with Utah Representative Rob Bishop.
-Sadies Dance (Girls Choice- still working on WHO I'm asking though. It seems like everyone I want to ask is either dating someone or has already been or is planning on getting asked.)
-The ACT. Having taken it once in April, I'm taking it ONE last time. I am hoping to improve by a point, which would make me so happy. That reminds me that I should study- especially for the math portion which stinks because I haven't had the kind of math that we are tested on since eighth grade!
-College Tours. I am planning on heading down to Southern Utah for a "senior night", but I haven't decided on what weekend I am doing so. That should be fun though!

Well, this has been an unbelievably (but hopefully not unbearably) long post! Thanks for reading, that is, if you made it all the way through.

loves.

favorite shots.

these are my favorite shots from a recent photo shoot :) I sound professional, right? :) For some reason, the sides of the photo get cut off. I probably should have resized them. Sorry.

thanks to the people in the pics: Celeste, Savanna, Bransen, and Carson!
