Ridiculously Happy..

Well, after reading one of my favorite blogs , more specifically this post, I decided to make my own little list of ten things that make me terribly, ridiculously happy. Of course I could have easily added on this list...but, here are 10 things...and now I want to do the same thing she did. Send me your 10 favorite things and I might just write a post about them (although the thought of being featured on my blog isn't as alluring as being featured on Rockstar Diaries!).

1. When my favorite boy calls me for no reason at all
2. Watching the stars at night
3. Discovering little treasures at local thrift stores
4. Singing my heart out- anytime, anywhere
5. Making lists- places to visit and things to do(you've probably figured that one out)
   
6. Painting my nails bright colors- red, pink, turquoise
7. Riding with the windows down (and in the winter, with the heat on, especially with Kamilla)
   
8. Dancing in the rain (never actually done this one, but I'm sure it will be on this list one day)
   
9. Eating frozen yogurt with fresh fruit (like with my family last week)
   
10. Sending/receiving letters the old-fashioned way (bonus is when they are typed with a typewriter).

cotillion assembly.

It was our cotillion assembly today (in case you haven't been reading my blog lately) and I'm happy to say it was a great success! It was a blast, and I felt gorgeous thanks to Kara for her dress and Celeste for fixing my hair! :) I felt like a princess... It's a relief to have it done, but kinda crazy at the same time since we've been planning it for so long. Everything seemed to work smoothly (except the candidate slideshow, which had a few issues..usually does). Thanks for all those who came and supported me :) That was great to have you all here! And now, for the promised (and expected) pictures!

graduation extravaganza.

Becky graduated yesterday from BYU! Even though mom and I had to leave around 5:30 a.m., it was worth it. I'm so proud of my sister. We joked because she is 7 years older than me, but we are graduating the same year (sure I'm just graduating from high school, but still..). Becky is one of my best friends...Even though we aren't too close in age, we somehow get along great. I tell her everything. Anyway, she is a great example to me. On campus yesterday it was kinda weird- I'd just always planned on being a Cougar too. But yesterday, as fun as it was to be there, I knew it wasn't where I should be in the fall. Anyway, graduation was great (and SHORT because my sis has an awesome major- latin american studies). Here are some pics...we took quite a few. Haha.

And, I had been craving frozen yogurt all day long. Even after we went to Olive Garden, I still had the urge to eat some. We went to this delightful little place, Frozone, and enjoyed a very tasty treat! I chose to have both mango froyo and cheesecake froyo and then topped it with strawberries, pineapple, blueberries and blackberries. There were so many options though, but mine was SO good!! Man, I'm starting to get that craving again. Hah.

**well, I guess that's all for now folks. Monday is the senior cotillion assembly...I will post pics after since you're all DYING to see the dress. Haha, or maybe I'm just dying because I'm super excited to wear it!!! These next two weeks will be CRAZY, but then after cotillion and AP testing, life should calm down...a little.**

crazy life.

Life is so hectic right now! As a senior officer, our main projects are senior cotillion (aka senior prom) and graduation (oh, and reunions for the rest of my life). Well, we also have to plan "senior week", the closing assembly, and the graduation party. Cotillion is in 11 days. I'm kinda freaking out! Our assembly is on MONDAY!! ah! Oh, and I'm a candidate, but luckily I borrowed an amazing dress. So, at least I don't have that concern to worry about.

But, want to hear some frustrations? I love the other officers, I do, but lately it seems like R and I do all the work. Or I guess I should say, if we leave it up to someone else, it won't get done. Our new attitude is to have "more faith" in our fellow classmates. But, I'd rather just have us work on it so I'm not stressed! That's horrible huh? I am just the type of person who needs to have things done, and NOT last minute. It scares me to death how unprepared I feel we are. Today we luckily got a few things figured out, and it was fun because R and I stopped by Wendy's on the way home from our meeting with the catering company and I felt so grown up! While we were sitting there in the booth, we planned out the assembly and then thought how crazy it was that in 10 years we'd be planning again. 28. Nearly 30. And we just started thinking and wondering where we would be in ten years and what would we be doing? And what the other officers would be doing, how people would change (for good or bad) and if the immature boys would finally grow up! Haha.

Anyway, now I have to go study because I have a big test tomorrow and besides all the officer stuff, I have 2 AP tests coming up in less than two weeks, and around 5 choir performances (including state on Saturday! I'm excited for that one, and it means no more early-morning sectionals!!). Oh, and I have to be at school for the next 4 days at a ridiculously early time. But things should calm down...eventually!

Besides all the crazy school stuff, I feel really lucky right now. Things are going fantastic :) Ah! I'm so very happy.

I love free stuff.

After going to a relief society activity this morning (at which I won 25 lbs. of flour, two things of elf lotion, and a Scentsy candle + two scentsy waxes in delicious scents), I got online to look at some KSL classifieds, simply for fun. I came across a brand new listing for free stuff, including a fondue set! I figured that having a fondue set might be fun for college, so decided to go check out the left-over yard sale items. Well, someone claimed the fondue set before I got there, but this is what I ended up with:

• A kitchen chopper
• A decorative wreath kinda like this
  
• Trivial Pursuit
• 2 ice trays
• A cookbook for those who don't cook (aka ME)
• a novel
• cute wooden letters spelling "Bath"
• a candle warmer
  
• professional hair-styling products that have never been used (all valued at $15 or more)

Now that's what I call some good deals!

Well, I have some fun plans for tonight and then my life will be crazy busy in preparation for graduation!!!

I love Easter. I know that the commercial aspect shouldn't be a focus, but let's face it...I DO love that part of this holiday too. The Easter basket filled with yummy goodies that only come once a year, the tradition of a new "Easter dress" and the fun-filled activities like egg-dyeing, which I did not participate in this year. And, with Easter comes spring break. Glorious spring break...our break was Thurs, Fri, and we also get off tomorrow. So far I've...gone to work, read a book halfway for english, went to a baseball game, worked, participated in the MS walk with one of my besties, went shopping, and hung out with a cute guy (we watched Lord of the Rings 2). So, let me put a few pictures up here about that portion..

On to today...

Finally...let me just say that I love this time of year for another reason too. Seminary has been amazing as we have talked all about the Atonement in the New Testament. And then with General Conference, I don't think Elder Holland could give a more appropriate talk when it comes to this time of year...if you haven't read it or can't remember it, I encourage you to do so when it comes out in the Ensign or online. But, this is a little video put together on Youtube with parts from his talk. Click here to view it. It is seriously amazing! I am so grateful for the gospel and for the scriptures. And for seminary. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for me and that He has felt all my pains and weaknesses. I think that is such a great comfort.

conference weekend.

I love conference weekend. Hearing words from apostles and other church leaders always encourages me to keep pressing on. I heard a lot of thinks that I feel like were meant just for me! Especially Steven Snow's talk about changes. I have a lot coming up; his talk encouraged me to have faith and not fear the changes that life brings.

My niece and sister were able to come up for conference, and after the last session on Sunday we went to the park. It was so much fun. I think I had just as much fun as Lizzie. I love swings, by the way! They are ridiculously fun. Well, here are some pictures...
