a sweet tooth.

I've always had a sweet tooth — no surprise there. Lately, I've decided to make the cupcakes not only taste good, but LOOK divine too! I guess the secret is all in the frosting tip. It makes a huge difference in presentation and I love the variety.

Last week, I made St. Patrick's Day cupcakes with my nieces (ok, it was just white cake mix dyed green) with Our Best Bites whipped buttercream frosting and green sprinkles. They looked so festive,  if I say so myself.

Then, at church on Sunday, there was a sign-up sheet to provide treats for an event. I jumped at the chance to practice my baking + frosting skills. My mom was laughing Monday night as I debated...key lime cupcakes? Chocolate chip cookie dough cupcake? Lemon zest cupcakes? Well, in the end, I made a simple vanilla cupcake, but doctored the cake mix* to make it pretty tasty! I added a yummy vanilla buttercream on top with sprinkles. They were a hit!

And, this weekend, I have a farewell luncheon before my mission. I am honestly a little too excited about the cupcake ideas I have planned (white chocolate raspberry, oreo mint, carrot cake and cream cheese frosting). Oh boy!

I decided if I ever open a cupcake shop, it must be named Cherry On Top (a play-on words with my name). Clever, right?

Anyway. What are your favorite cupcake combos?

*Modified Cake Mix
1 box white cake mix
1/2 cup melted butter (instead of oil)
1 c. buttermilk (instead of water)
3 T. Greek yogurt (I used Fage)
